31Living is a blog about life from the perspective of Christian women that are each in a different place in their life’s journey. It is our desire to share things we have learned about life, parenthood, grand-parenthood, college life, church life and more so that others can use it for insight or perspective in navigating their own life’s journey.

Meet the 31Living Authors

Audra WalshMy name is Audra Walsh. In addition to being the founder of 31Living, I am a Pastor’s Wife, a mother of five adult children and grandmother of seven beautiful grandchildren. I work a full-time secular job as well as serving as the Women’s Ministry Director for the Pentecostal Church of God’s Tennessee District and several administrative capacities at our home church. I love the Lord with all my heart and strive to please him in everything I say and do. It is my prayer that the posts in this blog will inspire you, encourage you, motivate you, make you stop and think, make you cry, make you laugh and help you in some small way through your life’s journey. Life is hard is hard on your own. When we come together to share what we have learned and lift each other up we can lighten each other’s burdens and build each other up.

Dana Hi, my name is Dana Capps. I am a 44 yr old wife and mother. My world is centered around God and my family. My husband Scott and I have been married for 23 yrs. We own and operate a small business together. God has blessed us with 3 children, 2 biological and 1 adopted. Our daughter is the oldest, she is a freshman in college. Our middle son is an 8th grader and our youngest son is in the 6th grade. They keep us busy with their various activities of Band, football, baseball, and basketball! My parents pastor a church in rural West TN. Scott and I teach Sunday School there. I am also the church secretary, work with the youth, and occasionally get the honor of delivering God’s Word behind the pulpit.

I guess you can say I “wear many hats” and stay very busy.  I have always enjoyed writing and I am looking forward to sharing stories about how God gets me through my crazy hectic, awesomely blessed, life!

Malori Hello! I’m Malori Walsh. At 23 years old, I am married with three precious fur babies: Sissy, Bear and Tyson!  I grew up in a God fearing home as a Pastor’s Kid, aka “PK”.  My Mom and Dad were always working on church events, but never ceased to be there for my sister, Melanee, and I. Melanee is 2 years younger than I am, and I consider her to be my very best friend. She is a fashionista that keeps me on my toes, but she is always there for me in a heartbeat! I started singing in church when I was very young, no older than six or seven, and continue to sing weekly, even today. Growing up in a Pastor’s home, we never missed a church event.  I love to tell people, as my Dad would say, “I had a drug problem…. I was always ‘drug’ to church.” However, I wouldn’t trade this part of my life for any part of this world! It made me who I am today.

I grew up in what seems like small town, U.S.A. where everyone knows everyone and, honestly, most of us are related.  I met the love of my life, James, when I was 15 years old, still in High School. Although it wasn’t quite “love at first sight”, he became one of my closest friends, and eventually grew on me. (**insert cheesy smile here**) At 20 years old, I said “I Do” and the rest is history! Before we married I knew that a partnership with him meant being the “Pastor’s Wife” I knew I was always called to be, and we began our life together within the church. Following and serving Christ is our foundation, and we continue to build on that first and foremost. He knew as a teenager that he was called into Youth Ministry, and I knew that God had provided for me a man whose calling fit with mine. As our Ministry grew, so did our ambitions. As of now, we are continuing our calling in Youth Ministry within Hope Worship Center as well as the Tennessee District of the Pentecostal Church of God. We both serve as members of our Worship Team at HWC and have recently stepped up as the Associate Pastors’. I’ve always known that God had big plans for my life, I just never knew that He could possibly use and bless me so big at only 23 years of age. Over the last several years, my life has seemed to be a roller coaster ride, but in it all, I have seen God move more than I ever have. I am so excited to start this journey, sharing God’s Word and my stories with you!

autumn.jpg My name is Autumn Eklond.  I am married and have 6 kids with my husband Matthew.  The oldest is 23 and married to a Marine while the youngest is 2 and thinks she is Queen of the house.  The in between kids are 22, 19,19 and 15.  We have three boys and three girls and we are a blended family.  I’ve learned that family is more than just blood members in your life, it is who God sends to you. I spent a little over 20 years in corporate America and a lot of time traveling across the US. After having my youngest I decided that traveling across the country was for the birds! So after a lot of soul to sole searching and honest outright discussions and prayer with God, I found my calling in life.  My husband and I sold the big house with the pool with too many bedrooms to clean, and I started my own business helping small business owners and a not for profit for high school girls.  My hobbies are reading, writing and refurbishing old furniture.  I am writing 3 books that I dream of finishing in my lifetime. I don’t have many close friends and on the opposite side, I  always strive to be friendly with everyone I meet and can talk to a stranger in an elevator. I believe in prayer.  I have a piece of paper with my family and my closest friends and their families names on it. I am consistently praying for their names and any needs.  My grandmother taught me from a young age that the blood of Jesus will cover us as long as we pray in his name and believe and walk in faith.

I have had a lifetime of memories and a lifetime of situations that have created perspective in my life.  I want more than anything at the end of the day to show others Jesus and God’s love for us in all that I do.  It took me years to realize that I am not perfect and I finally threw away my imaginary measuring stick of judgement on myself and my load was a lot lighter!   My favorite bible verse is Romans 8:28.  May God bless you in all that you do!
